THE Pharmacy Board of South
Australia has advised that it’s been
contacted regarding concerns
about the prescribing and
dispensing of alprazolam.
The medication has shown itself
to be extremely addictive, with
unpleasant and possibly fatal
withdrawal once dependent.
Alprazolam is also particularly
dangerous when combined with
strong opiod agonists such as
methadone, with pharmacists
asked to be vigilant to the use of
alprazolam especially amongst
those who present taking both
