WE'RE all used to hearing the term 'turf war' when it comes to the healthcare rivalry between the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.
Well the rhetoric stepped up somewhat this week with AMA tweeted that doctors should be allowed to "own dispensing pharmacists", claiming that the enslaving of other healthcare professionals was "world's best practice" on Tue.
The horror social post sparked in-depth conversations among attendees at the Guild's Annual Parliamentary Dinner, as they congregated at Canberra Airport on Wed morning before returning to protect their pharmacies from the onslaught.
Guild Victorian Branch President - and would-be Aussie pharmacy's William Wallace - Anthony Tassone, pointed out "slavery is really not cool in the civilised world" in response to the tweet.
"They can try and take our dispensaries, they will never take our FREEDOM", he posted.
