PHARMACISTS in the Tenterfield, Warwick and Stanthorpe areas north west NSW and south west Queensland were "blown away" with the generousity of the Sigma Retail team and their supporting partners, as they face the twin horrors of drought and fire.
"The towns are very close to running out of water due to drought and were then challenged further by bushfires," a Sigma spokesperson told Pharmacy Daily.
"Seeing an opportunity to help locals through our branded stores in the areas we collaborated with suppliers to donate and send close to $60,000 worth of everyday essential items to seven stores for distribution amongst the community.
"Products included Hydrolyte and water free hand sanitisers."
As one pharmacist commented, "The donations you have provided will not solve the water problem, but generous gestures like yours go a long way to boosting the attitude and resilience of our local communities.
"We look forward to working with you in organising and distributing these items to those in need".
