REGIONAL brigades from the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) are set to share in $15,000 raised through sales of the 2021 Capital Chemist Group's community calendar.
The group, which had a dozen pharmacies affected by last year's bushfires, presented the cheque to the RFS at Capital Chemist Batehaven Pharmacy in Batemans Bay earlier this week.
The funds will be used to support six of the RFS's smaller units at Belowra, Deua River, Malua Bay, Nerrigundah, Runnyford and Wallaroos, and have been earmarked to provide GPS communications equipment and repeaters to improve communications.
Additional funds have also been made available for the RFS branch at Tinpot, in the mountains west of Narooma.
The calendar, featured images of the NSW South Coast and photos of the heroic Malua Bay Fire Brigade, captured by photographer, Josh Burkinshaw, and was available for a gold coin donation.
