AUSTRALIAN Healthcare Associates (AHA) has released details of the transition of management of 23 Community Pharmacy Programs which are being taken over from the Pharmacy Guild effective from the start of next month.
AHA was last year awarded the contract to administer the programs currently funded under the Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement (PD 29 Oct 2018) following a competitive tender process undertaken by the Department of Health.
An update yesterday confirmed the Guild would continue to run the programs up to and including 31 Jan 2019, meaning it will receive and process claims until then and also make payments and resolve issues in relation to these claims.
Effective 01 Feb 2019 AHA, which will be operating under the name "Pharmacy Programs Administrator" (PPA) will take over.
The Guild will continue to maintain its existing Support Centre, its enquiries phone number and its email address to respond to inquiries or issues, with information about the final date of operation to be provided in due course.
A new Support Centre run by PPA will be operational from 01 Feb, and in the lead-up to that date existing users will be contacted to provide information and support in setting up user accounts via a new online portal at ppaonline.com.au.
An in-house team of IT developers will work to resolve any emerging issues with the new portal.
The Guild's current 6CPA Registration and Claiming Portal will be unavailable for the submission of claims once the Guild winds up activities relating to the programs.
"Pharmacies and other portal users should be aware that data, including historical claims and payment information, will not be accessible after this date.
"Users that require a record of this information for business, taxation or other purposes should ensure that they record any required information prior to the portal being disabled," PPA said.
