TECHNOLOGY giant Microsoft has announced a new strategic partnership with Walgreens Boots Alliance, which operates pharmacy brands across the US and Europe with a presence in 25 countries.
The companies will work together to "develop new health care delivery models, technology and retail innovations to advance and improve the future of health care".
As well as a joint multi-year R&D investment, Walgreens Boots Alliance will pilot up to 12 in-store "digital health corners" to merchandise a range of health-related hardware and devices.
Microsoft also becomes Walgreens Boots "strategic cloud provider" with plans to migrate the majority of its IT infrastructure onto the Microsoft Azure platform and roll out Microsoft 365 to over 380,000 employees worldwide.
