THE University of Sydney has highlighted the "Surprising things pharmacists do", in an article promoting its pharmacy course.
In case of emergency, many pharmacists can administer first-aid, from wound-dressing and Epipen treatments to asthma management, the article reads.
There are a range of treatments pharmacists can offer precluding the necessity of seeing a GP for minor ailments or injuries, and will generally save patients money by providing less expensive generic versions of drugs prescribed.
The article even says pharmacists may be able to supply Fido with a product not in the local vet's store.
