WELL-LIKED cricket legend and commentator Bill Lawry celebrated with pharmacists of Australia in the MCG Long Room on the occasion of the 10th National Pharmacy Cricket Carnival last month.
Lawry was the guest speaker in front of a record 150 diners in the iconic venue after four days of cricket played by pharmacists from all over Australia, vying for the coveted Chemists Interstate Challenge Cricket Shield.
Pharmacy Cricket began in 1908 as a competition between NSW and Victorian cricket-loving pharmacists and has evolved over the 109 years to become an important date in many pharmacists' calendar, involving every state and territory except Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
