THE World Health Organization has proposed rescheduling cannabis within international law to take account of the growing evidence for medical applications of the drug, reversing the position held for the last 60 years that cannabis should not be used in legitimate medical practice.
A vote on the issue by the 53 countries that are members of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs is scheduled for Mar this year.
