MEDICAL tests are not usually considered to be dangerous, but a Brazilian man has sadly died during an MRI procedure.
In fact he wasn't even the patient - Leandro Mathias de Novaes was accompanying his mother for the procedure, and apparently disregarded an instruction to empty his pockets before entering the facility.
The unfortunate victim was carrying a handgun in his waistband, and when the MRI machine turned on its powerful magnetic force caused the weapon to discharge, with de Novaes receiving a fatal gunshot to the abdomen.
Officials at the clinic said they had clearly warned him to remove any metal objects before entering the room, and weren't aware that he was still carrying the weapon.
Ironically the 40-year-old attorney was a prominent advocate for gun ownership, with a strong social media following for his TikTok channel (pictured) where he urged the people of Brazil to collect weapons and answered questions about the legality of gun ownership.
