A VITAL new registry has been set up to gather information on Australians' experience of perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
The registry, named VITAL (Virtual regIstry of peri-/menopause in AusTrALia), has been developed by A/Prof Erin Morton of Flinders University, who has more than 20 years of clinical trial and health data experience and expertise.
Experiencing symptoms of perimenopause herself, Morton realised there was a lack of community awareness, and decided to create VITAL.
"VITAL is designed to provide the perimenopause and menopausal community with greater opportunities for involvement in their own care, and to collect key data that can be used to identify trends and improve research and education," she said.
