PFIZER has come out in support of the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation's (ATAGI) updated statement on the COVID-19 Vaccination Program, which notes the recent increase in COVID-19 cases across Australia.
As the country experiences an eighth wave of the virus, Pfizer is working closely with the Govt to supply COVID-19 vaccines as quickly as possible.
Pfizer Australia & New Zealand Country Medical Director Dr Krishan Thiru emphasised the importance of vaccination and other preventative measures as the holiday season approaches.
"Being vigilant about staying up-to-date with vaccination and lowering our risk of infection is critical as we head into the holiday period and families and friends gather in large groups, or travel interstate and abroad.
"We are reminding Australians that COVID loves a crowd," Thiru remarked.
As the situation in Australia continues to evolve, Thiru urged people to follow the advice of health authorities. "We encourage everyone to continue being vigilant and heed the Govt's health advice".
