THE Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has released its Household Spending Insights (HSI) Index which investigates the spending habits of more than seven million Australians to understand spending patterns and provide insights into how the Australian economy is performing.
Health experienced a slight increase in spending for May, up just 0.5%, following on from a small 0.9% increase in Apr.
The largest health spending in May was from GPs, pharmacies and other specialist services, which was offset by reduced spending on fertility services, ophthalmologists, dermatologists and medical equipment stores.
