THE Australian Border Force (ABF) intercepted 150,000 units of melatonin from 01 Sep to 31 Dec last year, according to reports in ABC News.
The seizure was part of a TGA crackdown on imported unregistered melatonin products, with testing on a range of products showing significant discrepancies in the actual melatonin content compared to the labelled amounts, raising serious safety concerns for consumers (PD 30 Jan).
