Monash wields the SABER
October 15, 2012

MONASH University’s Faculty of
Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical
Sciences has launched SABER
(Sharing and Building Education
Resources), a web-based
networking site collating resources
from pharmacy educator around
the world.
SABER has been established in
conjunction with the International
Pharmaceutical Federation and
UNESCO, and officially debuted last
week and the FIP centennial
conference in Amsterdam.
The “unique repository” focuses
on the collaboration and sharing of
teaching resources, with a strong
emphasis on supporting pharmacy
schools in developing countries.
SABER was developed using a
shared practice model, and
currently hosts a variety of online
teaching tools and resources
including the Monash pharmacy
faculty’s “virtual learning spaces”,
Pharmtopia, MyDispense and
Pharmville.
“SABER is free, internationally
accessible and houses valuable
resources for teaching staff and the
wider pharmacy community that
may not be accessible through
traditional approaches,” said
Faculty Manager, Marian Costelloe.
