CAPTAIN Kirk still exploring space.
Charged with the mission of exploration, Captain Kirk, aka William Shatner, has once again made his mark on outer space, naming one of Pluto’s moons. Shatner’s moon name, Vulcan, was selected out of hundreds of entries by a pool of 450,000 online voters. The competition to name the moon had a few rules including: that the name had to come from Greek or Roman mythology (Vulcan is the Roman god of lava and smoke as well as, more recently, being home to Spock). The second place name went to Cerberus (a three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the underworld).
