Quebec looks at cards

THE provincial government of Quebec in Canada has announced a review of all “pharmaceutical card programs” in the region. The programs include the ‘Lipitor Continuity Card’ from Pfizer, which “supports patient’s choice to remain on brand name pharmaceuticals” at no additional cost compared to using the generic. Pfizer has been ordered to temporarily suspend the distribution of the Lipitor card while the review is under way.
