which highlights a number of
achievements of the Australian
Drug Evaluation Committee (ADEC)
and its successor, the Advisory
Committee on Prescription
Medicines, as well as looking at
the tragedy which prompted the
foundation of the ADEC in 1963,
the prescribing of thalidomide to
pregnant women.
