THE US Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has approved
the first antihaemophilic factor,
Fc fusion protein for adults and
children with haemophilia A.
Eloctate, from Biogen Idec,
received orphan status from the
FDA and is the first haemophilia A
treatment designed to require less
frequent injections when used to
prevent or reduce the frequency of
bleeding.
The product is still under
