ADHERENCE to statin therapy
has been associated with increased
risk of diabetes type 2, according to
a new observational study.
The authors of the research,
which involved 115,709
participants, concluded that even
though in the real world setting,
the risk of new-onset diabetes rises
as adherence with statin therapy
increases, the benefits of statins in
reducing cardiovascular events still
overwhelmed the diabetes risk.
