EUROPEAN pharmacy group
Alliance Boots has posted a profit
of more than £1.07 billion for the
year to 31 Mar, making it only the
third British retailer to ever record a
result surpassing the £1b mark.
The company employs 115,000
people and said it expected to
continue to fight off competition
from supermarkets by adding more
new own-brand products.
Innovations in the last year
include Boots No7 Protect & Perfect
skincare range, as well as the Oct
introduction of the BootsWebMD
healthcare information portal.
Boots also offers the Boots
Employee Wellbeing Service to
corporate clients, allowing them to
combine online health assessments
of staff with pharmacy-based
services such as blood pressure
