IN light of the launch this week of
the world-first interdermal influenza
vaccine, Intanza, in Australia, the
Pharmacy Guild is calling on
pharmacists to engage healthy
adults in dialogue about the
importance of seasonal vaccination.
Intanza is an intradermal
microinjection which uses a 1.5mm
needle that delivers a 0.1mL dose
and 9μg of antigen directly into the
dermis, thereby exploiting its high
concentration of immune cells
(dendritic cells) which then create
an equivalent immune response to
