Chemmart looks forward
November 2, 2015
Chemmart members have
committed to “becoming the
industry leaders in forward
dispensing,” with the pledge made
on the final day of the Chemmart
Member Conference in Ho Chi
Minh City, Vietnam last week.
The brand has launched a
revitalised customer-focused
strategy which aims to address
challenges such as the PBS reforms,
increased competition and the $1
co-payment issue.
Chemmart Executive Director,
Duncan Phillips, said the challenges
for pharmacy are as significant as
they have ever been.
“The environment dictates that to
survive, change is required, and to
win-game-changing is needed.
“We need to be more relevant to
our customers, provide better value
and ranges and, by growing our
business, continue to invest in our
proposition,” he said.
The strategy includes plans to
further develop the Chemmart
Masterclass program - a “global
best-practice leadership program”
which is designed to provide
Chemmart pharmacists with the
training and skills required to deliver
exceptional customer service.
Phillips said the program had
already delivered outstanding
results in stores, and “we are
looking forward to taking it to the
next level in 2016”.
“In terms of the level of
training and support we offer our
pharmacists, we believe we can
lead the market not just in Australia
but globally,” Phillips added.
The conference also saw the
launch of a new innovation fund
which will provide interest-free
loans to members as a way of
driving new in-store initiatives.
“Great businesses are made from
great ideas, and its really important
that we’re bold and innovative”.
Members with new ideas that
align with Chemmart’s wellbeing
proposition for customers are
encouraged to develop a business
case and apply for funding.
Other topics addressed in the
Vietnam conference included
the launch of a genetic testing
service, a new partnership with the
Professional Compounding Centres
of Australia and the importance of
“sensory marketing”.
