NEW Zealand has expressed
concern about the WHO
Draft Guidance on Ending the
Inappropriate Promotion of Foods
for Infants in a submission.
The submission argues the
guidance in its current form may
have unintended consequences
on “trade and economic relations”
and requests the reference to
“inappropriate promotion of foods”
be carried though the content and
recommendations.
New Zealand has also requested
definitions be included in
the Guidance to minimise
misinterpretation and inconsistent
implementation and more time
be given to provide informed
