INDIAN generics giant Sun
Pharma has announced the
acquisition of 14 established
prescription brands from Novartis
in Japan, in a deal worth US$293
million.
Novartis will continue to
distribute the brands for a certain
period pending transfer of all
marketing authorisations to Sun
Pharma, after which they will
be “marketed by a reliable and
established local marketing partner
under the Sun Pharma label”.
The brands have combined annual
revenues of about US$160 million
and address medical conditions
