Following feedback from
member pharmacies on the
consultation around margin
funding to community pharmacy
in New Zealand, the Pharmacy
Guild of NZ has submitted to the
Programme Director, Community
Pharmacy Services Agreement,
that PHARMAC is fundamentally
underfunded.
Repeated reduction of margins for
community pharmacy businesses
with the downward pressure
on drug prices has created an
unsustainable ROI environment for
pharmacies procuring and carrying
stock for medicines supplied, said
the submission.
“Without any additional funding
from DHB, no solution will address
