Discount Drug Stores has announced the national roll-out of free clinics through Sep to help assess risk levels and discuss diabetes.
The program will also see DDS replace damaged or dated blood glucose monitors at no cost.
Changes to the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) supply system have prompted the initiative.
DDS pharmacists will not only be supplying all NDSS products, including insulin pump consumables (IPCs), but also providing patients with tips and strategies to help increase confidence in managing their diabetes, as well as conducting risk assessment screenings, discussing hypoglycaemia management and cleaning and checking blood glucose monitors.
