THE Health Care Complaints Commission prosecuted Dr Kwong Yiu (Kelvin) Lo, a medical practitioner, before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, determining that his registration be cancelled and that he may not apply for a review of the order for two years.
Lo was found by the tribunal to be guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct, related to inappropriate prescribing of Schedule 8 and Schedule 4D drugs, including prescribing drugs of addiction to drug dependent patients, and his failure to maintain adequate medical records.
The tribunal found that this failure had the potential to allow the entry of these drugs into the community where they could become available to drug abusers.
