THE Therapeutic Goods Administration has acted on safety concerns about homeopathic teething products, after an alert was raised some weeks ago by the US FDA (PD 04 Oct).
In an update issued yesterday the TGA said it's now conducting urgent laboratory testing of homeopathic teething products currently marketed in Australia to ascertain whether any action is required here.
The FDA warning included Hyland's products, some of which are believed to be sold locally, citing a range of adverse events including seizures, breathing difficulties, lethargy, agitation and more.
