PHARMACY'S peak bodies in New Zealand, the NZ Pharmacy Guild and the Pharmaceutical Society of NZ, have signed an agreement which aims to boost co-operation, including attendance by their respective vice presidents at each other's board meetings.
The representatives have full speaking rights at the meetings and access to board papers, but are unable to vote, reports NZ trade publication Pharmacy Today.
PSNZ president Graeme Smith said "In a country the size of New Zealand, it makes more sense to pull together rather than compete with one another," while NZ Guild vice president Cameron Monteith said "we're all pharmacists and it's important that we focus on the same things".
