THE Therapeutic Goods Administration has issued an alert advising consumers and health professionals that Lose Weight capsules pose a serious health risk and contain sibutramine, a prescription-only medicine which was the active ingredient in Reductil, and the NSAID diclofenac.
Reductil was withdrawn in Oct 2010 after a study showed an increased risk of major cardiac events.
