SPREADING the flu jab word
COMMUNITY pharmacies increasingly are becoming well-recognised providers of vaccination services, particularly the influenza vaccine.
Guild Learning and Development is partnering with Seqirus in an online course, titled 'Encouraging the uptake of influenza vaccination in your pharmacy', which will help pharmacists refresh their knowledge of key immunisation concepts.
This course reviews the pathophysiology, incidence, and associated morbidity and mortality of influenza infection in Australia, lists the patient groups who are at risk of influenza infection and those who are eligible to receive the influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program.
This activity has been accredited for 1 hour of Group 1 CPD (or 1 CPD credits), suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist's CPD plan, which can be converted to 1 hour of Group 2 CPD (or 2 CPD credits) upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities.
