DIETITIANS generally agree that fruit is good for you, but if you were one of the 500 students recently evacuated from RMIT because of a rotting durian you might think differently.
The notoriously pungent fruit was found decomposing in a cupboard at the University's library, the ensuing stench created initially misinterpreted as a potentially toxic gas leak.
For those curious as to what the durian fruit tastes like, just beware, The Smithsonian Magazine once described the South East Asian delicacy as akin to "turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock".
Or, to put it another way, a bit like the drumsticks at some fast food joints.
