Ascension and Ramsay Health Care global supply chain joint venture.
Listed hospital group Ramsay Health Care has announced it has entered into a joint venture with US Roman Catholic healthcare organisation Ascension to develop a new global supply chain. The joint venture will combine the power of the St. Louis-based establishment, the world’s largest Catholic health system and Ramsay’s more than 230 healthcare facilities in six countries on four continents.
Ascension, being “faith-based”, is the largest private, tax-exempt, non-governmental health organisation in the United States.
The joint venture company, which will be owned equally by Ramsay and Ascension, will begin by identifying category opportunities for joint procurement, with plans to expand the range in the future and explore “broader business development opportunities that are expected to generate further commercial benefits for the two health systems”.
EPS for Ramsay shareholders are anticipated to be positively affected, the company said.
