THE Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a warning about scammers who are "increasingly using fake charities or impersonating real charities to take advantage of people's generosity".
So far in 2018 the ACCC's Scamwatch has received almost 700 reports of fake charity scams, with more than $320,000 in reported losses.
