AUSTRALIAN pharmacists will be administering cell-based influenza vaccines for the first time this season.
Seqirus's Flucelvax Quad is the first flu vaccine in Australia to use an advanced mammalian cell-culture system, breaking from the hen's eggs traditionally used to develop vaccines.
The cell-based Flucelvax has been used in overseas markets for a number of years.
