Consultant clinical pharmacist, Debbie Rigby, will chair the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's (PSA's) new Interdisciplinary Team-based Care (IBTC) Community of Interest (CSI).
Announcing the launch of the CSI, Rigby said it would "bring pharmacists working across different models of care and programs together", to further the PSA and the profession as a whole.
"Medicine safety is a national health priority, and pharmacists can contribute much more to this important issue through an interdisciplinary approach," Rigby said.
"An interdisciplinary approach involves team members from different disciplines working collaboratively, with a common purpose, to set goals, make decisions, and share resources and responsibilities.
