NDIS Partnership: Concerns over access to COVID vaccinations for disability scheme participants have been tackled head-on in a formal partnership between the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
The new deal makes it quick and easy to access vaccinations through community pharmacies, empowering participants to choose who, where and when for their booking.
The action parallels arrival of Moderna stocks as a new option from pharmacies. Guild President Trent Twomey said the Guild/NDIA partnership would boost community safety but also propel the nation faster towards a full reopening under the national plan.
NDIS participants aged 18 and over who are eligible for Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines are encouraged to make an informed choice, including discussion with their health professional, ahead of booking their preferred vaccine.
Separately, TGA head Adjunct Professor John Skerritt will be a guest at a Pharmacy Guild members' webinar on 6 October.
