Blind voting system

For the first time in an Australian federal election voters who are blind or have low vision will be able to this year cast a secret vote via a telephone voting system. Blind or low vision voters can still vote with assistance at a polling station on election day, but the new system also allows registrations for the secret poll on 1800 913 993. Over 700 people have already registered for the new technology.
