CHEMIST Warehouse looks
set to debut a new smartphone
app described as an “innovative
medication management and
reminder platform” for busy people
who want to take better control of
their health.
Now available for download on
the Apple iTunes store, the app
requires users to register with their
local Chemist Warehouse store, at
which point they will receive an
activation code via SMS.
Customers are able to view their
complete list of medications, with
the number of days of dosage
remaining and repeat details.
“With a very easy to use ‘refill’
button you can request that your
prescription be dispensed ahead of
time so that it can be ready for you
when you arrive at the store,” the
app description notes.
Notifications are sent to patients’
phones when they need a refill,
along with reminders to visit the
doctor when a repeat is required.
The app also offers “click &
collect” shopping, exclusive
promotional coupons, the ability to
chat with a pharmacist and a range
of health-related videos.
The Chemist Warehouse app is a
rival to the system offered by ASX-listed
MedAdvisor which is offered
by 1600 pharmacies and used by
140,000 customers nationwide.
Online reviews of the Chemist
Warehouse app indicate that while
it’s available for download, staff
have not yet been briefed on the
system and it’s understood a formal
launch will take place next month.
