PHARMACISTS in Australia and in Switzerland have demonstrated a high level of willingness to provide chlamydia testing and consumers are pleased with the prospect of not needing to make an appointment for it, according to new research published in Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare.
The greatest barrier to consumers however, was their emabarrassment about asking for the test, authors wrote.
The online survey involved 198 Australian consumers, 162 Australian pharmacists, 209 Swiss consumers and 223 Swiss pharmacists.
With widespread support for the concept, the authors argued there is now evidence that policy makers in both countries need to develop pharmacy-based chlamydia testing as core business - CLICK HERE.
