The European Medicines Agency
(EMA) has conducted a workshop
on the issue of Best expertise vs
conflicts of interests: striking the
right balance as it applies to key
opinion leaders and their advice
on drug usage within the European
Union.
The workshop was designed to
elicit the views and concerns from
academia, patient organisations,
committee representatives, nongovernmental
organisations, the
pharmaceutical industry and the
scientific media on the Agency’s
current conflicts-of-interests policy.
