COPD consultation

THE Health Department has opened the public submission process for its post-market reviews of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) medicines as well as Ezetimibe. Both consultations will be open for a seven week process, closing at 5pm eastern time on Fri 22 April. The consultations aim to look at the current use of the medications in the light of clinical guidelines as well as recent clinical studies that look at long term patient outcomes. For COPD medicines the terms of reference aim to analyse the utilisation of PBS listed therapies to “identify the extent of co-prescribing and use that is inconsistent with clinical guidelines and/or PBS restrictions”.
