PHARMACY delivery drivers in Wales are to be trained to identify signs of loneliness and isolation in older patients, when dropping off prescriptions as part of a trial.
The drivers will use a computerised tool to assess patients, and decide if they would benefit from a referral to the National Health Service or social services.
The trial is part of the Welsh Government's loneliness and social isolation strategy and will be run by the National Pharmacy Association and Hywel Dda University Health Board.
