ICONIC Australian foods have been subject to significant humiliation in a new tourist attraction in Sweden. Labelled the Disgusting Food Museum, three star-attractions including our own Vegemite, witchetty grubs and musk sticks - all earned a spot on the dubious podium of shame. Other products to make the unenviable cut included Twinkies from the USA, a boiled duck egg with a partially developed foetus from the Philippines, haggis from Scotland, pork brains from the USA and casu marzu --- maggot-infested cheese --- from Sardinia.
And more: baby mice wine from China, fruit bat soup from Guam (pictured), and rotting century eggs from China.
Mmmm, is it lunch-time yet?
Now that's a relief!
Remember that recent stolen inflatable colon story (PD 24 Oct)?
Kansas police have found it after being tipped off about its location in an abandoned house - it had been stolen from the back of a truck much to the despair of the university cancer research centre using it in a health promotion: "Get Your Rear in Gear".
The good news is that public donations flooded in to pay for two more inflatable colons.
Twitter storm: "Grammar police have solved the case of the missing colon." "Phew, just in time for the elections!" & more.
