IT'S not often that a pharmacist tops the FBI's priority list, but US podcast series, The Opportunist, is set to examine the life and crimes of Robert Courtney.
The true crime podcast focuses on "regular people who turn sinister by embracing opportunity", and the former Kansas City pharmacist who watered down cancer treatments certainly falls into that category.
Courtney came to the attention of the FBI after nurses working for an oncologist noticed that several chemotherapy patients weren't experiencing the normal side effects associated with the drugs.
The doctor subsequently had medication supplied by Courtney tested, with results showing the sample contained less than a third of the drug prescribed.
Courtney is currently serving a 30-year sentence for the fraud.
Podcast creator, Kast Media, said the show would look at how "a family man, pharmacist, and well-respected member of his community" became "a cold, calculating criminal".
