LAST night's Pharmacy Guild of Australia Annual Parliamentary Dinner was a jovial affair, with some of the speakers clearly attempting to outdo each other when it came to jocularity.
Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack started things off when he noted that he was wearing a Guild tie, having ransacked his wardrobe to find the item - and he was also sporting a Guild pin (pictured).
"What a suck-up," he quipped, adding that he had also intended to wear Guild cufflinks but unfortunately had worn the wrong type of shirt.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison joined in the jesting, making particular reference to a bristly Movember effort proudly sported by Pharmacy of the Year winner Luke van der Rijt from Southcity Pharmacy in Wagga (below), who was sitting on the top table.
"Luke I'm not sure what supplements were used to grow that moustache mate, but I'm willing to bet they're not on the PBS," the PM said.
