association between drug name
confusion error rates observed in
the real world and those observed
in laboratory-based tests of
memory and perception, a study
published in the British Medical
Journal has demonstrated.
The authors recommended
that drug regulators and sponsor
companies use these tests prior
to finalising or accepting names
of drugs to minimise the risk of
