E-scripts mandated

NEW York is the first US state to force prescribers to use electronically generated scripts in an attempt to cut back on prescription-drug errors and misuse, according to a report in Modern Healthcare. The legislation takes effect this month and comes with new prescriber guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and policy changes at the Food and Drug Administration.
