THE European Medicines Agency (EMA) has published the results of its assessment of traditional medicine echinaceae pallidae radix conducted by the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC).
Also known as pale coneflower root, products containing this substance have been deemed safe by the HMPC and can be used without risk for relief of symptoms of the common cold.

In addition, used in this way, medical supervision is not needed, tha HPMC said.
